I am simply on a roll today, what can I say?

I love the communities on this site. I've found really, really active ones, and some very dormant ones as well. Here's some of the comms I'm in--a lot of which I've recently joined--and that I wish to become a frequent member of. Come join me!

vsynthrecs: I love vocal synths, this is nothing new. A perfect comm for me, personally! I joined the beginning of this month and have since made 2 posts. I don't want to be too spammy, otherwise I'd be posting a song a day in there >_< I have a lot of songs I enjoy...

asexual_fandom: A place for asexuals in fandom! I've never made a post in here, but I really oughtta. I'm certain I can conjure up a list of fic recs, easy.

gensplosion: A place to recommend gen fanworks. Funnily enough, the most recent post (from December of last year) is a Sonic the Hedgehog work... this comm was really just calling out to me, huh? I'm always happy to see some gen work appreciation! As of writing this, the comm does not allow self-recs.

gaming and girlgamers: Two gaming comms with relatively recent activity, which makes me happy! They are sister communities. I can't wait to post in these, I love talking about the games I've played. Oh, and these comms aren't tied down to just video games; any medium of game is allowed!

indie_games: This comm is separate from the previous two because it's been 46 weeks since it was updated! I love indie games! Definitely going to double-check my Steam library to make sure the game(s) I want to talk about is actually indie after this and get! To! Posting! Please please please join me in reviving this comm, it seems so awesome.

little_details: I believe this was the first ever comm I joined, and the whole reason I made a DW account in the first place! A place to ask folks for advice on the little details of the story you're making. No question is too specific!

shes_awesome: Do you love women? Do you wanna be in a comm with other people who love women? Great! Get on into this comm and yap about women who are awesome! Which, spoiler alert, is Every Woman. I'll need to gather some images and talk about Surge in there soon...

...And that's a wrap! Phew! All caught up now, hopefully I don't fall five days behind this week. I might keep it to double posts from now on for sake of convenience? Who knows. I hope you enjoyed this mega-installment!

This is late, but it's been a busier week than usual for me. It's finally the weekend for me, so I hope to get caught up! I'm also not going to be doing my usual format for this, just leaving some general commentary below.

Starry Party Panic! by KAT Ft. Starry Court (SOLARIA, SAROS, NYL, and ASTERIAN)

But can the cast stay on task? Will they start to crack? / Only time will tell, pray it goes well!

Not only is this song reminiscent of older JP Vocaloid songs like BAD END NIGHT, this is a project commissioned from Eclipse Studios themselves as a final farewell to their first project! That's such a huge thing for KAT to be doing! They absolutely shot it out of the ballpark with this, too.

The art is so charming and full of life. I cracked up when SAROS was about to crack a chair over ASTERIAN'S head. I only watched the video once (again, busy week), and I just know there's a million other little things I missed. Maybe I'll update this later with some more observations.

The Starry Court are incredibly beloved to me. I remember when SOLARIA was first released... it's only been about 3 years?! It feels like it's been a decade! She's still one of my all time favorite vocal synths. Witnessing the release of the Starry Court was also a blast. Eclipse Studios' next major project is making vocal synths for specific genres of singing, a direct contrast to the Starry Court, whose whole premise is how insanely versatile they are. I believe they've been working on these for about a year now? Maybe over? Maybe even close to 2?! Times kind of blurs together, I'm sure some of you can relate.

Anyhow, back to KAT: This style is a little different than their signature style, but still unique and charming. Again, it's very reminiscent of older JP Vocaloid songs with a large cast of voices singing about... well, I'm not sure how I would describe it, actually. But Starry Party Panic! perfectly emulates that feeling in 2026 (it was actually released in 2025).

Regarding 3W4DW, I'll be getting caught up 😅. There's a good chance I won't finish in time for the 3 weeks, but I'm not stressing about it. I'll get it done when I want to <3.

May is fast approaching (seriously, what the hell happened to April? I sneezed and it went away!), which means it's time for another round of the semi-annual month-long drabble challenge hosted by the Tumblr account thedrabblecollective! They host a challenge every year in May and November.

Last year, I did a few prompts for their November challenge. I'm taking another swing at the ol' month-long every day challenge scene again, since I love telling myself, "this time I'm REALLY gonna finish it, trust me!" (Note: I do not trust me.) I'm not too worried about whether I complete it or not, though, since I enjoy the act of writing and posting enough as is.

Anyway, just wanted to leave a little post here, hopefully get some folks on DW interested! I'll be cross-posting my stuff from my writing Tumblr to this journal (still haven't fully figured it out yet—perhaps once or twice a week I'll "backlog" the drabbles here, instead of doing it every day?). Boy, is May going to be busy!

* I always put off things I know will permanently change my brain chemistry... I still have to listen to their latest song with Len...
* This is the second song FLAVOR FOLEY has produced that's about a robot wanting to be human. I hope they never stop.

* SF-A2 MIKI MY BABYYYYY her synthv voice bank is as lovely as ever. This is the first time I'm hearing it, actually!
* I love it at the end when she sounds just a bit more human! Yeah baby!! Tecknahlowgee!

* It's very pretty! The art is super cute, too.
* The black & white monochrome for a majority of the video was so lovely (voice of a guy who loves values).
* Then the burst of color at the end when the robot decides to live on its own terms!! Yes!! That's my #shit!
